Where to Verify a Car Shipping Company
The old headline promised twenty must-read websites. A padded link list does not help you hire a broker. These are the references that change a decision.
Use these
- FMCSA SAFER, to confirm authority and the USDOT number. Bigfella’s is 4133743.
- The FMCSA complaint and consumer pages, if you need the federal description of broker and carrier roles. Read them. Do not treat a complaint filing as a substitute for noting damage on the bill of lading at delivery.
- Your booking terms. On this site they live with the quote and on pricing: what is charged today, Price Lock, and cancellation.
- The assigned carrier’s certificate of insurance. How to read the idea, not a sample policy, is carrier insurance.
- The bill of lading from pickup and delivery. What it is for: bill of lading.

Review sites, forums, and news articles can surface questions. They cannot confirm authority. A thread that names a company is not a SAFER printout. The research order is how to research an auto transport company.
Site guides that answer the next question
How car shipping works, how long it takes, broker versus carrier, and the car shipping encyclopedia are the on-site references. They are not a ranking of other companies.
Get A Quote when you want a price. Then verify the company you are about to book, including this one.
Questions people ask
Why not list twenty blogs?
Because most of them repeat the same tips and none of them are your contract. Five primary records beat twenty secondary articles.
Is a quote website a verification tool?
A calculator shows a price for the details you type. It does not prove authority. Pair it with SAFER.
Where do I report a problem on my own shipment?
Start with Need Help? and the bill of lading notes. Federal complaint channels exist. Use them with the documents, not instead of the documents.
