Auto Transport Pricing, Without the Mystery
Pricing conversations go sideways when someone wants a single dollar figure for “shipping a car.” The basics are simpler than the ads, and less precise than a calculator screenshot from a different route.
The five inputs
- Where the car is picked up and where it is delivered.
- What the vehicle is: car, SUV, van, or pickup.
- Open or enclosed. Enclosed adds $380 on a Bigfella Direct Quote.
- Whether it runs, steers, and brakes. If it does not, the inoperable add-on is $200.
- Whether you add Express ($150) or White Glove ($300).
Military eligibility, when verified, is $75 off. That is the published discount, not a guess.
What a Direct Quote is
You enter the vehicle and both places and see a price before you book. That price is for those details. It is not a teaser that gets replaced after you type your phone number. $0 is charged today. The card is charged after you approve the carrier.
If the details change, the quote can change. That is covered on why a quote can change. The longer walkthrough is the full pricing guide. The public fee list lives on pricing.
What this page will not do
It will not publish a U.S. average, a “most customers pay” range, or a per-mile rate you can multiply at home. Those figures go stale and they hide the vehicle. Use Get A Quote for the shipment you actually have.
Questions people ask
Why do two companies quote different numbers for the same car?
They may be assuming different transport types, a different pickup window, or a price a carrier will not accept. Line up the assumptions before you line up the dollars.
Do I pay the driver in cash at delivery?
On a Bigfella booking, the price you approve is the price. Do not hand a driver a second “balance” that was not on your quote. If someone asks for that, stop and use Need Help?.
Is door-to-door extra?
Door-to-door means as close as a legal full-size carrier can get. It is the normal service, not a luxury checkbox. Tight streets may mean a nearby lot. See door-to-door shipping.
